Before the darkness gives way to the morning
Before the nighttime surrenders to day
He walks through the darkness beside me
And his smile drives the darkness away.

I will forever praise my Savior, Lord and King
And with the saints of old my soul will sing
And when, at end of day, my life in this world is done
I will praise him with the angels on high.
And when my mind goes back to the former days
I think of all the saints who’ve gone before.
I know the day will come when I see them all again
For they served the same Savior as I.
