A POEM FOR ANNIE
4-17-77
The love of Christ reflects in you
The joy of life and giving
And everything I’ve seen you do
Rejoices in your living.
Many times I’ve read of love
Of friendships never ended;
In you I’ve known the best of both,
So perfectly they’ve blended.
A listening ear, an open mind,
A steady sense of living
A sister in the faith, I find
I soon must give up seeing.
Yet even when you’re gone, I know
Your spirit never leaves me
In both of us, the Holy Ghost
Resides, that two might one be.
I wish you luck in all you try
Abiding in God’s favor
And since I’ll see you, no good-byes;
Just remembrance, to be savored.
